This 4-day Naples Street Photography workshop takes place from 18-21 September and is led exclusively by local photographer Francesca Chiacchio (@francescawho; first 10 images shown are by Francesca). The workshop is open to a maximum of 6 participants. Total price of the workshop is €500. Food and accommodation is not included.
About the workshop
Naples is one of Europe’s most intense and authentic cities for street photography. It is an amazing experience to can capture Napoletani; from chaotic markets and historic alleys to religious rituals and relaxed seaside scenes.
During this workshop, you’ll explore a carefully curated mix of locations, each offering a completely different atmosphere and photographic approach. With guidance from Francesca, you’ll always be in the best places at the best time and improve your street photography skills.
Program highlights
From the starting point at Piazza CaritĂ you'll dive into the vibrant Pignasecca Market. You will capture life on the old town from Montesanto Square to Piazza Dante, and explore the historic heart of the city at Via dei Tribunali, Spaccanapoli, and Piazza del GesĂą Nuovo.
Main focus of this Naples adventure is the San Gennaro festival: You'll witness the San Gennaro's Miracle at the Naples Cathedral and in the area around the cathedral.
Other highlights from Naples that are part of the itinerary:
The Maradona Murals in the Spanish Quarters, Via Toledo, the waterfront near Castel dell’Ovo and local life along the coast at Mappatella Beach. Also Rione Sanità , a lively and authentic neighborhood known for its street life, history, and strong local character is part of our program.
On the final day, in the morning everyone has the time to do an individual walk or spend time editing and preparing for the extensive final session on editing and sequencing, a specialty of Francesca.
