This 7-day Casablanca & Rabat Street Photography workshop takes place from 15–21 November and is led in close collaboration with local photographer Youness Sef (@yoness_Sefiaoui), and together with the American Arts Center. Images on the left are by Youness)

About the workshop
This intensive week-long workshop explores modern daily life in Casablanca, a major Moroccan City and in old city of Rabat, the country’s capital. These destinations welcome a street photographers perspective, rather than a touristic one. We’ll focus on the visual opportunities that that we encounter when exploring the country's urban city life, helped by the local knowledge of our guide Youness.
We photograph across a wide range of neighborhoods in Casablanca, from the leafy calm of Parc de la Ligue Arabe to the urban flow of Gauthier and Maarif, and along Boulevard Zerktouni. We shoot in busy public spaces like Place des Nations Unies and Marché Central, as well as in the more intimate setting of the Old Medina of Casablanca.
We also explore the coastal atmosphere of the Ain Diab Corniche and photograph in and around the monumental Hassan II Mosque.
The workshop coincides with the lead-up to Morocco Independence Day, offering many candid opportunities to street photographers.
Midway through the week, we take the train to spend a full day in Rabat, for a completye different setting and new energy and inspiration.
Throughout the workshop, we combine our long shooting days with clearly structured review and editing sessions at the American Arts Center.
The workshop concludes with a final pop-up exhibition at the American Arts Center, where participants present their work in a real-world setting.
